Head Housekeeper / Hoofd Huishouding

Location: Amsterdam
Hours per week: Fulltime, 38 hours per week

Working on public holidays and weekend days is part of the job requirements.
The Omni Cleaning Group is looking for an experienced Head of Housekeeping.
As Head of Housekeeping you manage a large and diverse team. This is a challenging position, which means that that you ensure that all guest facilities, public area spaces and bedrooms are maintained to the highest standards and that cleanliness and quality are the focus of a process of continuous improvement. You are proactive, think in solutions and act immediately where necessary. You’re able to represent the interests of the employee as well as to monitor and achieve the financial objectives.
In this position you are responsible for providing good quality and relationship with the hotel with open communication and working on our customer satisfaction. You therefore ensure clear lines of communication within the department with hotel management and other departments within the hotel.
Personnel administration (sickness absence, vacation planning, time registration etc), evaluating all employees within the department and conducting performance and appraisal interviews are things that you find important and like to do structurally. You maintain contact with HR, the operational manager and managing director. Together with these colleagues you discuss the team, you ensure follow-up of illness and you keep records and all other matters on a weekly basis.
You ensure that all employees have the right residence-work documents, know all procedures, how to act in every situation, receive the required training and feel involved and appreciated.

You are also responsible for:
  • Provide training where necessary on an operational level so that everyone can perform good / her duties
  • Carrying out recruitment & selection
  • Implement health and safety policy and monitor that all employees are aware of and follow Health & Safety instructions
  • Responsible for achieving the department's productivity objectives, directing where necessary and reporting problems to management that require extra attention
  • Answering questions and complaints from employees
  • Delegating tasks and organizing the work within the department
  • Developing operational standards and ensuring that the quality of the work delivered is guaranteed through "best practices"
  • Performing quality checks and identifying points for attention
  • Delegating tasks and assignments

What we ask from you:
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a position as Head Housekeeper / Executive Housekeeper
  • Extremely good interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills in speech and writing
  • To be well acquainted with the use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Have the ability to build a good relationship with customers and subcontractors in a short time
  • Performing under pressure
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Can motivate and inspire others
  • Flexible, professional and eager to learn
