We are currently looking for

Financial Controller
Full-time position (40 hours/week)


The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. In addition, the Finance Controller is responsible for managing IT system changes within the Accounting Department and optimization of the process flow.



Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any variances or discrepancies.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transactions.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaids, and other adjustments as needed.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and regulations (internal control framework).
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as requested.
  • Prepare the organization’s tax and regulatory reporting (BTW, CBS, VPB, WKR, et cetera).
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide support for the annual budgeting process and the preparation of financial forecasts.
  • Review and improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff members within the accounting department.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and financial reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with our India team on reporting and optimizing our AR/AP administration flows.
  • Manage relevant applications like ISP and be the key user for relevant financial processes in the ERP (JDE) system.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 5 years of working experience in a financial role
  • Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards experience is a plus)
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles (Dutch GAAP) and understanding of Dutch Tax regulations (including the basics of Transfer Pricing requirements)
  • Advanced proficiency in English and Dutch (both writing and speaking)
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
