Job Mission
Work closely with the Install team on the shopfloor at the customer site to ensure work is performed at the highest safety standards and being the role model on safety. You will be expected to create a collective consciousness for- and appreciation of safety. This will entail being a team player and a coach to support the Install team in a constructive manner by using an one-team approach together with Customer Support EHS.
The mission will be to support the team in our safety journey from being dependent on safety towards becoming independent and ensuring an EUV installation at a customer site can/will be executed by having the highest safety standards in place, adhered to and continuous improved.
When you are not working at the customer site, you will be working to support EUV Factory EHS in Veldhoven.
Job Description
Your tasks consist of five key deliverables throughout the installation at the customer site: 1. Safety:
Work safely and ensure those working in the area are also working safely
Closely monitor the overall Safe Working Area and ensure different teams are not creating safety risks for others working in the Safe Working Area that have not been communicated and mitigated
Actively participate in the generation of LMRAs (Last Minute Risk Assessment) as a team member for all Last Minute Risk Assessment’s covering work in the Safe Work Area
Pause work if there are any concerns or ambiguity with completing an activity safely or to the required quality standard and consult with the shift lead to find solutions as needed
Full understanding of ASML and Customer safety requirements and practices
Conducts daily safety walks of the safe work area. E.g. Check: emergency exits, safety showers, Lock Out Tag Out (Lock out Tag Out) box completeness, confined space entry, working at heights, align with the shift lead
Provide safety support in a coaching manner to those working in the Safe Working Area
Provide real time feedback to the team regarding the use of appropriate safety ways of working
Always wear appropriate PPE for the work being performed and ensure those working in the area also are utilizing the appropriate PPE
2. Support:
Promote and role model the required (safety) behaviors
Be an active and constructive participant of pass downs and DK’s (Daily Kaizens)
Independently identify, log, and execute improvements in a coaching manner
Document and share improvement suggestions with the project team and Group Lead’s that require support outside of your span of control to implement
Conduct routine 5s inspections
3. Control access to the System Work Area:
Responsible for understanding who has authorized access to the Safe Working Area at any time
Maintain close communication with the In-FAB coordinator and the Customer on required people to perform support work in the Safe Working Area
Politely keep unauthorized people out of the Safe Working Area
4. Coordinate Supporting Activities:
Understand the customer FAB, local ways of working, and guide team members in these areas
Responsible for understanding what work is planned for the day, the associated safety risks, and the mitigations
Maintain close communication with the shift leader and the In-FAB coordinator on the ASML work plans for the day
Be the Single Point of Contact in the Safe Working Area to coordinate in-FAB activities by other parties with ASML activities to ensure a safe work environment for all parties
5. Continuous Improvement
Provide feedback throughout and at the end of the installation that will enhance future installations on safety.
Education
To be considered for the role of Area Safety Guard, you need to have a MLO/MBO and preferably MVK or equal safety education. Additionally, you need to have some technical affinity.
Experience
An Area Safety Guard at ASML needs affinity within occupational health & safety and the drive to improve both within this company. Besides, you need about 5 years experience with safety in the semiconductor industry or other related businesses to be considered qualified.

Physical fitness: The Area Safety Guard is present in the cleanroom on 12hr shifts, with limited seating opportunity

You act as part of the Install engineering team stay in close contact with the Shift Lead of the Install engineering team who will remain responsible for safety in the shift
Strong coaching skills to help colleagues grow to a higher safety level
Lastly, you need good communication skills in English (both written and verbal) and good reporting/presenting capabilities, to report your results to stakeholders.
