Part-time IT & Management Lecturers (English Speaking)
SIST is seeking part-time lecturers for the upcoming semester, beginning in mid-October 2024.
Lecturers will be responsible for teaching one or more of the following modules:

Explore
This module is designed to enable students to develop confidence in academic and professional competencies. It embeds available institutional platforms for digital and professional skills, as well as creating a sense of connection between modules to create a cohesive learning journey. The module focuses on the “orientation of students to increase social and academic engagement, 'connectedness' to university, sense of direction and future career” (Beder, 1997)It offers an opportunity to appreciate the contemporary issues affecting the working environment and understand the need for reflective learning and professional development as relevant for their chosen programme.
Data and Knowledge Management
This module covers essential methods for organizing, storing, and using data effectively in a business environment. It includes practical training in spreadsheets, focusing on their application in the workplace for managing data, creating reports, and supporting decision-making processes.
Professional and Ethical Issues in IT
This module explores the principal social, legal, professional and ethical issues associated with computing and information technology, with respect to managing people, software and systems, and to the ethical dimensions of the use and development of information systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and deliver engaging lectures to students.
Design formative and summative assessments in line with the academic department's requirements (Specified modules only).
Perform administrative tasks such as tracking attendance and preparing teaching materials.
Grade student work and provide timely feedback (within 20 working days).
Attend two program committee meetings each semester.
Provide academic support and guidance at the module level.
Qualifications:
A Master’s degree or MBA in the relevant field of study.
A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in higher education.
Proficiency with various software platforms used in the teaching environment.
Strong command of written and spoken English, with prior teaching experience in English.
