Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering preferred.
What will you do?
- Be part of our team responsible for designing, writing, and delivering software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Thermo Fisher Scientific's services.
- Work with a team of software and systems engineers on projects for users responsible for uptime.
- Support end-to-end availability and performance of key services.
- Build automation to prevent problems recurrence.
- Automate a response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
- Be part of on-call rotations across continents, using a follow-the-sun model.
- 0-2 years of experience writing code and strong knowledge of networking tools, operating systems, and storage, with a focus on Linux.
- Familiarity with Unix systems.
- Basic understanding of AWS or Virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Shell.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes/EKS/terraform/AWS/Azure/Akamai is a plus.
- Basic understanding of participating in MIMs (Major Incident Management).
- Familiarity with logging monitoring solutions such as grafana prometheus loki tempo .
- Provide engineering support related to OS troubleshooting.
- Assist the team in repeatable tasks through operational automation.
- Support the functionality of AWS, Azure environments.
- Passionate about technology and eager to learn.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to new challenges.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
