Under minimal supervision, the Senior Engineer, Global Compliance coordinates and executes activities and actions needed to obtain and maintain compliance per local standards in region, for new and legacy Shure product portfolios for Latin America markets, but very focused in Mexico and Brazil.
Responsibilities:
Provides technical support to Shure internal areas for new products regarding global compliance requirements and related processes.
Develops good relationship and establish communication with internal teams (logistics, finance, Quality, etc.)
Assist in inspection and audit activities by international certification bodies, supporting the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Schedules, coordinates, and supervises the working processes with local agents as well as local laboratories in all previous activities before start certification with certification bodies
Responsible for requesting, tracking, receiving, testing product samples before submitting them to laboratory to start certification testing set to get certification in Mexico
Works and collaborates with global compliance teams to coordinate sending samples, materials and documentation needed to apply and comply with local certifications as well as providing all technical information about local norms and standards
Responsible for maintaining and continually improving working knowledge of applicable product certification standards and requirements for new and modified product designs, with priority attention in everything regarding spectrum regulations and changes
Works very close with local agents as well as with regional Certification Bodies to determine which norms and certifications apply to each product in countries of region for all new products and existing ones
Assists in coordinating and preparing various compliance reports to regulatory organizations, meeting documentation, and keeping updated data bases of all new certifications and renewals
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Be familiar with certification processes in Mexico and other LATAM countries (NOM, ANATEL, IFT. Etc.)
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent discipline work experience.
Solid knowledge of electronic engineering, production processes, quality control, and international standards (ISO, IEC, etc.)
Very familiar with electronic devices lab testing, as well as wireless technologies
Possession of strong attention to detail, strong ability to evaluate, appraise and prioritize risk
Good analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
Good leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient in computer operating skills in MS Office / Excel
Frequently traveling, both domestically and internationally.
Fluency in spoken and written English to communicate effectively with international teams and vendors.
