Site Supervisor (Substation Building Project)
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Site Supervisor to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of a substation building project. The ideal candidate will possess strong civil engineering knowledge, hands-on experience in construction supervision, and the ability to ensure that all activities on-site are completed according to the project's specifications, schedule, and quality standards. This role requires effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities to drive the project towards successful completion. Key Responsibilities:
Site Management and Supervision:
Supervise all on-site activities, ensuring that construction work is carried out according to the approved plans and specifications.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other on-site personnel to ensure smooth operations and adherence to the project schedule.
Monitor site progress daily and report any delays or issues to the project management team.
Quality Control:
Ensure all construction work meets the required quality standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify any defects or issues.
Oversee the installation of materials and equipment to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Enforce strict adherence to health and safety protocols on-site.
Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks to ensure that all workers are aware of safety procedures.
Address and resolve any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
Resource Coordination:
Manage on-site resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient utilization and minimize waste.
Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure the timely delivery of materials and supplies.
Maintain accurate records of on-site activities, materials used, and labor hours.
Communication and Reporting:
Maintain open lines of communication with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to keep them informed of site progress and any issues.
Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports.
Liaise with local authorities, utility providers, and other external parties as required.
Problem Solving and Decision Making:
Identify potential issues on-site and develop solutions to keep the project on track.
Resolve conflicts or disputes between workers, contractors, and other parties on-site.
Make informed decisions to address unforeseen challenges during the construction process.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Site Supervisor in construction, with a focus on infrastructure or substation projects.
Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and best practices.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Willingness to work on construction sites, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
