As a Psychology Major, you will have the opportunity to work with children with special needs. You will be assisting the therapist in preparing a treatment plan and help out in group sessions. You also will be involved in day-to-day operation and events of the centre. Responsible for teaching with children who have special needs in the areas of basic literacy, cognitive skill, gross and fine motor skill, language and communication, behaviour modification, social and life skill.
Able to conduct one to one or small group lessons
Able to use various teaching methods to promote learning
Able to guide students during self-help activities and play time
Able to perform assessment
Able to write progress report
Able to discuss with parents on home programs
Requirements:
Diploma or degree in early childhood education or special education or psychology
Acquire knowledge on early intervention program
Acquire knowledge on characteristics of children with Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome etc.
Good command of English / Bahasa Malaysia / Mandarin / Tamil
Good interpersonal skill
Patient, persistent, heedful, cheerful and caring personality
