ABOUT THE ROLE
Senior Tax and Financial Accountant, based out of Pommerloch, Luxembourg, is a key role supporting the Be Ne Lux region primarily but also other countries of EMEA region. This role has primary responsibility for preparation and support of various aspects of the monthly close process, responsible from tax provision to tax filings, preparing statutory accounts, managing audits, following global accounting policies and other ad-hoc projects for the region. This role faces several key customers as part of both daily responsibilities and as part of project teams, including Finance, Business Unit Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal and Corporate Accounting.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Senior Tax and Financial Accountant, based out of Pommerloch, Luxembourg, is a key role supporting the Be Ne Lux region primarily but also other countries of EMEA region. This role has primary responsibility for preparation and support of various aspects of the monthly close process, responsible from tax provision to tax filings, preparing statutory accounts, managing audits, following global accounting policies and other ad-hoc projects for the region. This role faces several key customers as part of both daily responsibilities and as part of project teams, including Finance, Business Unit Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal and Corporate Accounting.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
- Lead the preparation and maintenance of accurate and timely monthly reporting and statutory accounts in compliance with relevant regulations and standards mainly for Dutch entities.
- Ownership of the Dutch entities tax compliance and fiscal unity, adapting processes and reviewing where possible to ensure best practice.
- Support the EMEA FI team with tax provision and tax reconciliation.
- Support corporate project such as cash repatriation.
- VAT preparation for NL entities and occasional support for other countries when needed.
- Providing oversight on certain control reviews and control implementation.
- Working with External Auditors to support Avient’s audit requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the finance function, implementing best practices to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Support regional and corporate initiatives.
- Other projects according to business requirements.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- years + experience in Accounting and Corporate Income Tax with preference experience with a Big 4.
- Income Tax / VAT practical knowledge.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and any other European language is a strong asset such as Dutch and French.
- Strong communication skills.
- Organizational skills, a self-starter with high level of analytical skills and resilience.
- Working knowledge of SAP highly desirable.
- US GAAP, Dutch Gaap and other GAAP in EMEA.

Desirable:
- ACCA or local equivalent completed.
- Experience with SOX Compliance.
- Working knowledge of Hyperion, SAP and S4Hana.
