To provide specialized treatment of diabetes patients through the avenue of diabetology and research-oriented clinics. Recruit patients for research and provide clinical care.
Responsibilities
Undertake patient consultations and physical examinations, assessment and plan treatment requirements through clinics at a minimum of 4-5 time per week including evening clinic.
Conduct CPET and provide consultation for patients through weekly clinics
Liaise with other doctors, healthcare professionals and non-medical staff to administer effective treatment of diabetes in the context of clinical care and research
Write detailed patient reports and records; ensure accuracy and up to date status of records, medical reports, discharge summaries and all required
Participate and lend expertise, advice in working groups/committees that contribute to the DDI mission, vision and values
Ensure confidentiality of patient data obtained through clinics and research studies
Develop policies & procedures for clinical care and clinical research unit
Develop leaflets, patient’s awareness materials and promotions
Performs all other relevant duties as assigned
Required Skills and Expertise:
Prior published research in the forms of articles and conference or other outputs
Excellent communication skills including presentation skills
Commitment to excellence in research and within professional and ethical code of conduct
Ability to work independently as well as part of collaborative teams
Must be fluent in Arabic and English
Other Comments:
Bachelor’s in medicine; Fellowship in diabetology Preferable MRCP or equivalency in Internal Medicine Specialized certification in diabetes management is required
