Procurement Officer

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join our Kuwait office, with a strong focus on tender and bidding support. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing procurement activities, optimizing vendor relationships, and supporting the organization in tender participation. If you have expertise in procurement management, a keen understanding of tendering processes, and a proactive approach to vendor management, we’d like to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Management: Execute procurement activities in line with company policies and industry standards, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services.
  • Tendering: Prepare Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and assist in the tendering process, ensuring comprehensive and competitive bids.
  • Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors. Evaluate vendor performance, ensuring adherence to contracts and high service levels.
  • Supplier Development: Identify and develop new supply sources. Collaborate with technical teams to assess and qualify potential suppliers, ensuring they meet our business requirements and strategic goals.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement processes adhere to legal and internal compliance standards, reducing risks and optimizing procurement performance.
  • Contract Management: Support contract drafting, review, and management. Ensure the fulfillment of contractual obligations by vendors and address any issues that arise.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including cost analysis, vendor performance, and procurement metrics to inform decision-making.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of proven experience in procurement and vendor management, preferably in the GCC region.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to secure cost savings.
  • In-depth understanding of procurement processes, compliance requirements, and market trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Qatar import documentation requirements
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project Access and Visio.
