• Development of test cases.
• Configuration and maintenance of test environments according to test tasks.
• Documentation and tracking of defects in test management system.
• Development of automated tests in agreement with team leader and according to test tasks and under guidance.
• Own controlling of quality and documentation of test tasks under view of Adtran quality guidelines.
• Support of named internal and external customers as outlined below.
• Reports periodically to the responsible Manager SIT.
• Independent learning about new technologies, test methods and usage of measurement equipment.

• Demonstrated ability to complete the full product design life cycle on a portion of the system involving multiple components.
• Capable of working independently on the assigned design activities with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work within an agile development team performing the task of SIT engineer within the team; ensuing that the team complies with standard test procedures and follows SIT processes.
• Comprehensive understanding of the product architecture, design, processes, tools, etc. required to perform their assigned design activities.
• Operating at the equivalent of an engineer with 5 plus years of relevant experience.
• Learn new features, train other engineers
• Considered an expert in the field

Skills / Qualifications / Training / Experience:

• Electronics or Computer Science degree.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies, writing testing documentation.
• At least 5 years of Embedded testing in HW/SW Networking companies.
• Experience in Network Switching and Routing Technologies and Protocols.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Fast learner, hard-working.
• Good personal relation skills.
• Automation experience and scripting capability.
• Some Shift, Weekend work and Travel availability is required.
• Physical fibering of equipment in the lab expected, along with possible lifting/moving of test equipment.

Success Criteria:

• Ability to use test and measurement equipment necessary for all tasks in SIT.
• Experience with IP address planning and network configuration.
• Experience with standard Internetworking applications (telnet, ftp, ntp, syslog, etc).
• Experience with dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, RIP, BGP).
• Experience with traffic engineering mechanisms (MPLS, RSVP-TE).
• Familiarity with common switch/router configuration issues.
• Ability to be focused onto the goal in times of difficulties and disappointments.
• Ability of analytic thinking, fast recognition of complex test facts.
• Ability to search for new innovative solutions in test.
• May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be a contributor/specialist in their field.
