Job Summary:
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing sales operations, meeting targets and managing the customers in the specified area. Primary job responsibilities of the area sales managers include: reaching monthly sales targets, managing and training their customers in order to drive revenue growth, while managing fee collection and establishing strong relationships with the customers.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- Maintaining and increasing sales of Coopervision’s products
- Reaching the targets and goals set for the area
- Establishing, maintaining and expanding your customer base
- Servicing the needs of your existing customers
- Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market
- Product training for optometrists and shop staff.
- Compiling daily reports and working plan for the whole week
- Possibly dealing with some major customer accounts yourself
- Collecting customer feedback and market research
- Reporting to Sales team manager and National sales manager
- Managing fee collection in your territory
- Keeping up to date with products and competitors
Building and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with the clients
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong performance in sales.
- Exceptional communicator, with the ability to interface with customers, and internal functions at all levels.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- All of the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the job.
- Intermediate skill in the use of Excel, Word and Power Point. Advanced preferred.
Ability to read and understand professional material
Work Environment:
- Home based field role with strong preference for living central to the designated region
Represent the Company at evening/weekend seminars where required
Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in working in a professional business to business environment
Proven success of identifying, developing and implementing the company messages to drive business growth and target achievement.
Education:
- Ideally degree-level or equivalent
Scope: The Area Sales manager is responsible for sales within the Area as specified by the Sales Team Manager and Sales Manager. This role involves direct contact with customers as well as with the Sales Team. Within the company they interface with Customer Service, Finance (Collections), Marketing, Returns, Deliveries and other Logistics departments.
