The Role Job Title: Volunteer Engagement and Outreach Officer
Reporting to: Centre Manager
Location: Blended
Purpose:
Engage with organisations, volunteers, and interested individuals to foster meaningful volunteering in Fingal. Maintain the volunteer database and identify suitable programs.
Key Tasks:
Volunteer Support: Maintain the volunteer database, improve registration processes, promote volunteering, assist volunteers, plan events, and evaluate experiences.
Organisation Support: Manage Volunteers Involving Organisations (VIOs), ensure data accuracy, communicate regularly, provide tailored support, organise activities, and develop training materials.
Technologies and Communication: Lead on technology use, support communication strategies, create content, advertise events, and assist in PR campaigns.
Centre Activities: Promote the Centre, recruit volunteers and VIOs, represent the Centre at events, collaborate with the team, lead projects, ensure GDPR compliance, and perform additional duties as needed.
Person Specification:
We’re looking for a digitally savvy individual who can work both independently and as part of a team. You should understand the importance of good data and processes, be resilient, adaptable, and passionate about the value of volunteering.
Essential:
Full clean driving licence and own car
IT savvy and confident with social media
Excellent communication skills
Experience in building and managing partnerships
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Desired:
Familiarity with volunteering
Understanding of barriers to volunteering and social inclusion
Training experience or qualification
Ability to measure outputs, outcomes, and impact
Key Information:
Full-time, 12-month position (35 hours/week, Monday – Friday)
Out-of-office hours and weekend work required
Salary: €33,000 – €38,000, payable every 2 weeks
Regular travel across Fingal and occasionally across Ireland
23 days annual leave
4 days paid volunteering leave
