Job Description:
Innovative technology is rapidly being deployed within the air transport community to enhance passenger flow and operations. Enabling the global transformation of airports requires the integration of a diverse mix of advanced technologies. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be collaborating within a truly multicultural environment, engineering secure, resilient, and reliable new products for use by airport management and passengers worldwide. PURPOSE
Designs implements maintains and supports infrastructure services in accordance with business and functional requirements using appropriate SITA standards policies and processes across multiple projects. Integrate software & related technology for SITA’s airport-based management and flight information displays including back end servers, flight information displays, web interface, mobile devices, cloud integration and more. The position requires the integration of various technologies including: VMWare/Virtualization, Microsoft Server, MS SQL, desktop, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, hand held terminals, embedded platforms, patching, anti-virus, backup/restore, disaster recovery, redundancy, system management, HP server hardware. The purpose of the position is to ensure proper design and operation of all components of the solution and creation of hand-over packages for downstream teams such as QE test, training, delivery, operations, and solution design. The position requires periodic travel as needed to provide support to downstream teams and customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Standardize System Level Architecture
- Automate System Implementation, leveraging processes and tools proven successful in other airport products
- Standardize/Define security architecture regarding patch management, anti-virus, server hardening, Active Directory, etc...
- Engineer Disaster Recovery, Backup/Restore and other fault tolerance related product elements
- Integrate Product with SITA's Cloud Architecture
- Provide 3rd level support
- Evaluate 3rd Party Software and Integrate as needed
- Provide feedback to management regarding the requirements for the software (and related technology) being considered for integration
- Evaluate and recommend add-on utilities for system administration and troubleshooting.
- Write documentation for each integration. (Documentation includes details such as: Installation, customization, backup, and troubleshooting information)
- Assist other downstream teams as needed
- Ability to travel worldwide.
Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE
- Min 3 years of systems integration and/or server administration experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent technical discipline related to job description.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Must have:
- Windows Server 2012 - 2022
- MS SQL Server 2012 - 2022
- Microsoft Clustering
- Database Administration (e.g. MS SQL, Oracle, My SQL, …)
- Knowledge of Virtualization Technologies (e.g. ESX Server, VMWare, Hyper-V, etc.)
- Management of Messaging Services (e.g. MSMQ, Rabbit MQ, IBM MQ, …)
- Good Knowledge of Redundancy/Backup technologies: RAID, NLB, Tape Backup, NAS etc.
- General SAN Management. (including i SCSI, MPIO, etc.)
- Understanding of Power Shell and batch scripting desired.
- Strong communications and documentation skills
- Microsoft MCSE/MCSA or equivalent experience. VMware Certified Professional or equivalent experience.
Nice to have:
- Linux – Red Hat, Ubuntu is a plus
- Docker, Kubernetes, and related container technologies is a plus
- Networking Operation Systems (e.g. IOS) a plus
- Linux based skills is a plus
- Previous experience with HP servers is a plus.
