Business Integrity (BI) is a global team responsible for ensuring that all monetized content on Tik Tok is safe, ethical and high quality. BI aims to deliver innovative solutions to improve the advertiser experience and manage risks on Tik Tok. The team brings many XFNs together to provide end-to-end integrity solutions to all ad products, to launch and improve integrity systems and strategies and support the business in its growth mission.
Globally, regulators are increasing focus on social media companies with new dialogues, inquiries and regulations with specific requirements relating to moderation, transparency and reporting. The Regulatory Solutions team sits within BI. For the Regulatory Solutions team members, our focus is on understanding the regulatory environment and converting those requirements to ensure our integrity solutions and systems are compliant, while balancing the need to grow in a healthy, sustainable and efficient manner. We are a front line compliance team with responsibility not only for implementation of compliant solutions, but also for audit readiness and ongoing compliance assurance.
What we're looking for:
We are looking for a self-starter with excellent program and stakeholder management skills. You have experience in interpreting and prioritising complex requirements, organising parallel workstreams and implementing change. You partner with and can influence stakeholders at different levels to drive alignment across cultures, timezones and teams to deliver successful programs.
You are a seasoned professional, with experience in regulatory compliance implementations and/or risk management. You will collaborate closely with compliance, policy, GR, risk, legal, integrity, technical and operational teams in a high growth fast paced, often ambiguous environment.
To be successful, you must have experience in developing business requirements, process design as well as managing sizable projects through to delivery. You can translate legal/ regulatory information into business and product requirements, take this understanding to negotiate an acceptable path forward with senior cross functional stakeholders. You can balance the need for scalable cost effectiveness with the absolute requirement to build sustainable compliant solutions. You focus on the big picture, are mission driven and can influence others to meet regulatory goals.
Responsibilities:
- Be a strong point of contact for regulatory compliance within Integrity, building a strong reputation and relationship with key stakeholders.
- Monitor global compliance developments and derive meaningful insights from an integrity perspective to advise on key requirements and potential risks
- Support the translation of regulatory requirements to product, policy and operational teams
- Drive end to end compliance requirement projects within Business Integrity, engaging and coordinating multiple stakeholders with different subject matter expertise and support the wider Tik Tok compliance governance structure
- Analyze as-is situations, re-design processes based on regulatory requirements, drive internal and external stakeholder alignments, take ownership of key workstreams, governance and reporting structures and delivery and set up success metrics.
- Lead regulatory compliance programs from inception to implementation, exhibiting a high degree of ownership.
- Communicate and report on compliance initiatives, challenges, risks and successes to leadership and other stakeholders
- Support process improvement to optimise how we work and mature the regulatory compliance operation within Integrity
- Coordinate, input into and lead preparation of responses to various RFIs from regulatory bodies
- Perform risk assessments at a product, process, platform, or regulation level to identify key gaps and opportunities, align on priorities and ensure strong governance over decision making
- Liaise with globally dispersed and diverse Product Managers and Product Engineers who will support compliance related projects.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS/Legal degree or above or equivalent practical experience
- Strong background in program or product management, product operations, management consulting, auditing (financial or technical auditing), technical consultancy, risk management
- Experience in regulation interpretation and implementation in any industry e.g. GDPR (General data protection regulation), Financial Services regulations such as BASEL, IFRS; pharma regulation/ similar
- Extensive experience in project, product, process implemention
- Experience in implementing compliance and risk controls and providing ongoing compliance assurance
- An aptitude for managing & analyzing data and information and for applying critical problem solving to reduce risk while balancing business-operational-technical-legal needs
- Experience presenting complex process flows and requirements to a broad range of stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in managing diverse stakeholders, building relationships and setting expectations
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate, foster relationships and work cross-functionally in multiple time-zones
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments
- Ability to proactively identify trade-offs and adjust quickly to change
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to multi task
- Fluency in English
- Experience with online advertising, ad delivery
- Experience in trust & safety or similar risk control environments
- Understanding of global regulatory landscape as it pertains to the digital industry
