About the role:
When you join the team at Tamworth Hospital's Maternity unit, you will be welcomed as a valuable member of our team. You'll support women and their families throughout every stage of pregnancy, including antenatal care, labour, and early postnatal support.
This role offers a unique chance to enhance your skills and advance your career by rotating through various clinical areas. These include:
  • Birthing Unit
  • Triage and Day Assessment
  • Caesarean Section Care
  • Antenatal and Postnatal Units
  • Home Visiting Services
  • Antenatal Clinics

Where you will be working:
Tamworth Hospital is a major referral hospital located in the northern region of the Hunter New England Local Health District. Our 288-bed facility includes a high demand emergency department, Intensive Care, rehabilitation services, a Brain Injury Unit, Diabetes Centre, and high dependency unit. Our Maternity service has a 20-bed antenatal and postnatal unit; 4 birthing suits and 2 assessment rooms; and a 7-day Home Midwifery Service. We look after low to high-risk pregnancies, with birthing numbers sitting just under 1200 per year.

About You:
This role is perfect for someone who is seeking flexible work opportunities and the chance to gain experience in a highly regarded rural facility. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and a team player.
As these roles are accepting overseas candidates with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) and ANMAC assessment for ANZSCO code 254111 you are required to have a minimum of two years' experience as a Registered Midwife.
Additional Information:
  • We are also offering sponsorship to temporary visa holders who hold an appropriate visa, in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
  • An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time opportunities
  • Figures are based on the exchange rate from AUD to Euro as at 20/8/24 and will fluctuate with currency exchange rates. The allowance will be up $10,000AUD dollars.
  • All payments and reimbursements made to part time employees will be on a pro-rata basis.
