At emeis Ireland we are looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative to support our nursing home in their everyday needs. If you’re a compassionate, positive person who isn’t afraid to work hard, then this is a job for you. We expect you to be polite and a good communicator. Experience in the Maintenance of a unit on all requirements such as electrical fixing, painting, will make you a strong candidate.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform general maintenance tasks like fixing broken furniture, changing light bulbs and inspecting faulty appliances or equipment.
- Ensure the plants are watered and trimmed.
- Regularly wash the windows and clean glass surfaces with care.
- Responding to complaints and resolving the issues of the employees in relation to equipment.
- Ensure all the electrical appliances are functioning properly.
- Performing regular checks on the safety systems like fire alarms, smoke detectors, fuse box and so on.
- Installation of new equipment or appliances needed.
- Inspect problem areas and ensure the necessary steps are taken to solve them.
- Regularly check and maintain the ventilators and thermostat.
- Keep the supplies stocked and maintain an inventory and database.
- Coordinate with other workers and perform tasks.
- Update the Manager with weekly and monthly reports.
SKILLS
- Experience as a Maintenance assistance or lead is not essential but can be advantage
- Qualification in Maintenance or equivalent would be an advantage
- Positive and compassionate attitude.
- A high degree of empathy sensitivity and patience.
- A nurturing and positive can do attitude.
- The ability to follow procedures and instructions.
- A desire to use your initiative, but also to work in a team.
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
