We are seeking a talented and motivated junior to mid-level software engineer with a strong foundation in computer science. This role goes beyond routine programming tasks and involves creative problem-solving and the rapid development of prototypes to meet varied and flexible requirements. If you have a deep curiosity about the natural world, a passion for exploring scientific phenomena, and enjoy tackling mathematical concepts, we want to hear from you. The ideal candidate should thrive on asking questions and be driven to understand how systems function and interact.

Essentials:
Degree in computer science or software engineering. We are also open to folks in other scientific and numerate disciplines such as physics, mathematics, economics, etc.
Demonstrable proficiency in at least 2 programming languages. Proficiency with SQL - basic level will do initially, but you do need to know how to use databases
Linux knowledge, day-to-day use, developer-level
Cloud Computing, preferably AWS, basic-level
A primarily analytical mindset with a focus on creative but ultimately realistic problem-solving
A natural curiosity and interest in the subject domain, i.e. computer science, mathematics, energy industry

Nice to have:
Knowledge of time series databases, Grafana, and MQTT
Knowledge of C/C++, Python, Wolfram Mathematica, Rust, Go Lang, R, MATLAB (Java Script is even ok if you know how to apply it to interesting problems  )
Automation protocols and experience with sensors and data collection systems
Self-reliant and able to work independently from time-to-time
Not afraid to seek help or guidance when required
An effective communicator, especially with technical subjects
