Senior System Administrator - Cavan Co. Contract: Full-time, 1-year

Work Hours: 8 hours per day, Monday – Friday (excluding bank and church holidays), between 08:30 and 18:30.
Are you an experienced IT professional with extensive knowledge in system administration, SCCM, and Intune management? Do you have a proven track record of leading complex projects and managing high-performing teams? We are seeking a Senior System Administrator to support multiple sites in the Cavan & Monaghan area. The Role in Brief: As a Senior System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Intune infrastructure across various educational institutions. This role demands a professional with 7+ years of experience in system administration, leading complex IT projects, and providing high-level technical support. You will also collaborate with internal IT teams and third-party vendors to ensure smooth operations across networks, desktops, laptops, and servers. Your role will include on-site application administration, system and network management, technical project leadership, and helpdesk management. Key Responsibilities: System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) & Intune Administration:
Manage, upgrade, and maintain the SCCM/Intune infrastructure across multiple sites.
Configure and manage client and server OS updates using SCCM/Intune.
Package and deploy software, including specialized educational applications (e.g., Solidworks, Auto DESK, Sibelius).
Troubleshoot deployment issues, including OSD, applications, packages, drivers, and updates.
Deploy and configure new site servers, manage asset collections, and monitor SCCM client/server performance.
Create and manage custom images for large-scale Windows 10/11 OS deployments.
System & Network Management:
Manage Windows Server environments (2012R2, 2016, 2019, 2022), including both physical and virtual systems.
Administer network devices, configure VPN tunnels, and oversee Wi-Fi systems.
Handle SSL certificate management, Bit Locker encryption, and backup monitoring.
Manage DHCP, DNS, ADDS, Defender for Endpoint, and other security protocols.
M365 Administration & Management:
Create and manage user accounts and groups in Active Directory and M365.
Manage mail flow, exchange rules & policies, and configure trusted domains.
Develop custom MGGraph Power Shell scripts and manage Microsoft Teams policies.
Helpdesk Management:
Administer the Freshdesk Helpdesk platform and manage L2 & L3 ICT tickets.
Coordinate technical team duties, ensuring timely completion of ICT cases.
Document and report issues and resolutions on the helpdesk system.
Project Leadership & Strategic Alignment:
Lead IT projects and contribute to strategic IT planning.
Align audit projects with organizational strategy and provide expert guidance during procurement and selection processes.
Mandatory Experience and Skill Requirements:
Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in system administration, with a focus on SCCM, Intune, and large-scale IT environments.
Technical Expertise:
Deep knowledge of SCCM administration and deployment in large environments.
Proficiency in Intune mobile device management and application deployment.
Strong experience with Windows Server, Windows 10/11, and network management.
Project Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading and coordinating complex IT projects.
Helpdesk Management: Experience in Freshdesk Helpdesk software administration.
Full, clean driving license required.
