Summary: Investment Data Management Analyst
Department Overview
The Global Data Services (GDS) team within Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) is a global, investment data management organization that specializes in the sourcing, analysis, integration, management and distribution of security, index, and portfolio data. GDS provides these data services for reference, evaluative, performance and analytical data in support of global investment decision making organizations. Data Management Operations (DMO), a division of GDS, specializes in managing, integrating and validating vendor and Fidelity-defined data associated with investment entities (securities, issues, brokers, funds, portfolios and index data).
The Investment Data Analyst will perform critical functions to support daily including oversight of daily workload distribution to ensure helpdesk and project assignments are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
The Expertise You Have
- Bachelor degree in Business/Finance or Related Field required
- 3-4 years’ experience working in a Mutual Fund Operations, Business Analysis, and/or Data Analyst role within a Financial Services Company
- Timely response for the set-up and maintenance requests from customers
- Experience in varied projects/initiatives from straight forward to complex
- Respond to research requests requiring assistance and problem resolution
- Assist in the documentation, response, and management of client requests for new data
- Define and execute test plans and support user acceptance testing
- Recommend process enhancements for the efficient, accurate and timely completion of all activities including: data loading, quality checks, and reporting
- Identify data issues, perform root cause analysis and resolve data quality issues. When needed, work with business partners and systems partners to resolve.
- Ensuring work is completed within SLA and working on identifying possible causes of missed SLAs
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Your ability to think analytically and deliver solutions to complex challenges and recognize when escalation is required
- Team player who takes initiative and thinks across Fidelity
- Working knowledge of investment securities and Bloomberg an advantage
The Skills You Bring:
- Excellent understanding and application of MS Office tools specifically Excel
- A self-starter and team player who is assertive, independent and can manage multiple responsibilities without close supervision
- Strong detailed analytical skills with ability to clearly interpret business and data requirements and communicate meaningful results
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, customer relationship management, and negotiation skills
- Working closely with technology team to assist in the analysis and resolution of production support issues
- Experience working on small to medium scale projects where acute attention to detail was critical to success
- SQL and Oracle skills

- Reviews database queries to analyze and validate data for problem resolution for ad-hoc customer questions or issues that result from data surveying
