Role Purpose:
- To safely process waste through the relevant processing in line with agreed productivity requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Be 100% compliant with health, safety, smoking regulations and environmental requirements.
- Maintain a clean, tidy facility by undertaking daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties as relevant.
- Carry out manual segregation, compacting, baling and shredding of waste products as required.
- Inspect incoming wastes to ensure compliance with site operating requirements.
- Maximise recycling/recovery rates.
- Maintain written and electronic records as required.
- Carry out required processing equipment checks as required on daily or weekly basis in accordance with company policy.
- Communicate information that could potentially improve safety or productivity.
- Work flexibly in line with the requirements of the site.
- Assist in training new personnel, as required.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and ensure their health and safety.
- Participate in company mandated training.
- Carry out basic maintenance checks and basic maintenance work
- Perform any other duties as required in line with meeting company objectives.
- Observing and maintaining company values.
Key Performance Indicators
- Productivity – tons processed and recovery rates
- Health & safety awareness
- Compliance with environmental, smoking regulations and health and safety requirements
- Keeping accurate records where relevant
- Attendance and timekeeping
- Certified competent to operate forklift truck (desirable not essential)
Qualifications / Skills Requirement
- Be certified fit to undertake this role by company Occupation Health Advisors
