Farm Team Member - Machinery Operator
Hughes Farming specialises in producing fresh produce and ornamental flower crops within Kilkenny and the south east of Ireland. The company grows, processes, packs and distributes fresh produce to the retail and wholesale markets in Ireland and exports to Europe and North America.
The Farm: The company operates modern Dewulf, John Deere (6175r, 8365rt, 6620), Fendt (828, 724), Deutz, Bateman and Grimme equipment, precision tech throughout including implement guidance. Cropping is based on triple bed system of carrots, parsnips, pumpkins and cut flowers.
The Role: Hughes Farming are currently seeking applications for the role of Machine Operator. This is a full time, salaried role with benefits. The candidate would work daily within the farm team carrying out tasks which would include the training and use of modern root crop machinery. Reporting to the Farm Manager, the ideal candidate will have:
Salary TBC based on experience and candidate - this is not a minimum wage role.

- Experience of root crops and/or fresh produce a benefit but not a necessity
- Strong machine operation experience/skill
- Workshop and maintenance skills - (supported by on farm fitter)
- High attention to detail
- Strong interest in crop farming
- Registered pesticide user is advantageous but not necessary
