The Opportunity
Vermilion Energy has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Work Preparator to join our Maintenance team. Based in Co. Mayo, at the Bellanaboy Bridge Gas Terminal this role will report directly to the Maintenance Technical Lead and be an integral part of the Maintenance Work Preparation Team. The Electrical Work Preparator will be responsible for the efficient and productive delivery of the maintenance team by ensuring all materials and resources are available for planned works. Additionally, the Electrical Work Preparator will act as the super user of the computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS), with the ability to plan and prioritise work for the maintenance execution team. The successful candidate will join a team that values its people and provides work with purpose.
What you will do
Prepare preventative and corrective work orders in CMMS focusing on HSE, plant integrity, reliability and cost targets to ensure the delivery of maintenance activities
Conduct field inspections to determine appropriate scopes of work; develop work packs for maintenance jobs with the necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment and execution of maintenance work
For corrective activities, diagnose the cause of the problem, determine the scope of activity required to return the equipment back into service by packaging the work to the tasks, disciplines, materials and services for effective completion
Liaise with material suppliers and vendors to develop and publish integrated plans, by applying accurate cost and manpower estimating techniques
Provide detailed method statements and hazard assessments to perform the job considering health, safety and environment
Ensures work orders are processed, planned and issued in a timely effective and safe manner
Utilize Continual Improvement (CI) techniques and feedback from past work execution to improve processes
Interface and effectively work with the other discipline work preparators, as well as the maintenance team, operations and engineering personnel to effectively plan work scopes
Proactively mitigate emerging constraints and issues in order to maintain a robust plan of tasks
Develop and maintain strong communications between the work preparation team to enable efficient planning
Provide updates on the status of the preparation of the electrical work orders at scheduled weekly meetings.
Act as a member of the Location Response Team.
What you will bring
Minimum of five years’ experience in maintenance work or projects
Knowledge of maintenance planning and resource allocation essential
Full proficiency in Microsoft standard applications is essential
Demonstrable understanding and user ability of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and associated tools such as SAP/INFOR essential
Minimum qualification, a National Craft Certificate in Electrical and/or Instrumentation required
Third level qualification in a related discipline desirable
Maintenance cost estimating and contractor management experience desirable
