We are looking for an experienced, dedicated Early Years Room Leader to join our team of childcare professionals at our full-day care service based in Pembroke, Cork in our explorers Room

Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
Positions: 1 x Room Leader (Explorers Room)
Salary: €15.30 - 17.05 per hour

Job Role: the successful candidate with be our Room Leader and will take responsibility for ensuring high quality and best practice standards are maintained in the room and in the service, generally. This a key supervisory position of accountability. This role involves close co-operation with the Manager and the Early Years Practitioners in relation to the overall delivery of service provided by the service. The post-holder should also understand the links between the service and the various activities provided by the service as part of the overall service management.

Duties & Responsibilities: Day to day childcare tasks which will be outlined in more detail upon application - a brief outline of duties/responsibilities is listed below:

To act as a positive role model and lead the staff team in the room in the delivery of a programme of the highest standard and in accordance with Aistear and Siolta both indoors and outdoors.
To support and assist in the provision of full time day care of the highest quality, in a holistic setting.
To, guide, observe, stimulate and supervise children in a safe and caring environment as part of the childcare team
To act, if required as a key worker to specified children
Ensure the safety, security and well-being of all children in your care
To adhere to the Child Care 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016, the Child Care Act 1991, and all other relevant legislation and Regulations.
To adhere to good practice guidelines in relation to Aistear, Siolta, and policy document
Ensure the safety, security and well-being of all children in your care
To ensure all quality and safety standards are maintained in the Service always with specific responsibility for your designated room
To be knowledgeable of all policies and procedures and to follow them accordingly.

Candidate Requirements: Candidates who do not meet the requirements listed below will not be considered..

Candidates must at least 1 years experience in a similar role.
Candidates must hold a minimum of Fetac Level 6 (or recognised equivalent) in a childcare qualification.
Candidates who hold from level 6 - 8 qualification are preferred.
Candidates with LINC qualification are preferred.
Candidates must provide copies of qualification and 2 x written references at time of interview.
Candidate details will be submitted for Garda vetting.
Candidates who have lived outside of the jurisdiction for 6 months or more must provide international police vetting.
