Childcare Facility Manager ( Job share -20 hrs per week Maternity Cover)
The Job share Manager will work as part of a team of managers in Lifestyle and be directly responsible to senior management/Board of Lifestyle.
This vacancy is for 3 months from September 23rd 2024 to December 20th 2024. 20 hours per week- Wednesdays 1.30pm-5.30pm, Thursdays and Fridays 9.30am-5.30pm weekly. Flexibility will be required.
QQI level 6 in Childcare or higher is required for this position,
The position of Job share Manager will have overall co-operational responsibility of the Childcare Centre - this will involve putting into practice the policies/system/procedures that are agreed with management and overseeing the implementation. In order to do this, the Manager needs to develop/augment the role/duties & responsibilities of the Assistant Childcare Manager.
Particular co-responsibility will be to monitor HSE compliance in the childcare rooms/kitchen on a daily basis and to record/report all information.
Duties will include:
1. Co-Direct Supervision of Staff - the Job share manager will work in the childcare rooms, developing a strong team of childcare assistants, assistant leaders and leaders. Co-Manager will also oversee the Kitchen Staff & food preparation for children (HACCPS). Co-Manager will have co-responsibility for HR for all staff working directly or indirectly with children (i.e. managing the personnel files, work scheduling, leave, disciplinary/grievance issues) and co- responsibility for supervision of CE Childcare staff ( direct & ancillary staff) when new Childcare CE Scheme commences.
2. Co-Management of the service - dealing with parents, funders, and liaising with agencies, particularly in relation to childcare e.g DCYA, LCCC, BCCN, etc.
3. Co-Development of Services/New Initiatives - the job share Manager will implement and organise curriculum, schedules & activities; will constantly be updating knowledge of all Childcare developments ensuring compliance with Childcare legislation/HSE Regulations and all other relevant agencies/funders; will constantly develop and update childcare policies.
4. Financial - the job share manager will be co- responsible for administration of childcare finances/funding applications. This will entail managing and reporting on budgets to Board & funders, maintaining accurate records, overseeing fee collection.
5. Administration - record keeping ( manual and computerised) of all information, preparing returns to funders as required etc. Staff contracts/rosters, keeping records, feedback for staff reviews etc.
Other duties may be allocated on an ad hoc basis - these duties may relate to the overall Lifestyle project (not childcare). Managers are expected to work as part of the general Lifestyle project and assist when requested by senior management in activities such as organising/setting up training, fundraising, food preparation/serving or assisting in other Lifestyle projects.

Pay: €390.00 per week
