Care Worker Seaview Respite Service, Mountcharles, Co Donegal Fixed Term Contract 6 months, Part-time 25 Hours
Job Purpose The Community Support Worker will assist the Community Services Manager and Team Leader in the delivery of a quality individual focused service. They will work individually and as part of a team providing high quality care and rehabilitative support to adults with Acquired Brain Injury and/or other neurological conditions in the community in a person centred service. They will be responsible for implementing and ensuring Rehab Care standards while overseeing the delivery of a quality, customer focused service.
Minimum Education & Skills required
Minimum QQI Level 5 preference is for Health and Social Care or equivalent.
Two years’ experience is desirable in the provision of community and service based programmes and activities to promote independence and meet the needs, choices and abilities of individuals.
Willingness to participate in Rehab Care mandatory and further development training programme
Candidates should have a comprehensive understanding, knowledge and experience of working with people with neurological conditions and be able to maintain a high standard of care in line with Rehab Care’s policy and procedures.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
To support service users to carry out rehabilitation programmes for physical, cognitive and emotional impairment to maximize quality of life
To liaise with families, multidisciplinary teams and other personnel, as directed by the management team, to ensure the best quality of service with the individuals as directed by community services manager
Provide personal assistance in all aspects of personal care and manual handling, ensuring comfort and hygiene of service users and adhering to safe practice and risk assessments at all times.
Ensure that all interactions with service users are approached with dignity, respect, equality and incorporating choice.
Actively participate in appropriate, educational, recreational and occupational programmes, enabling service users to integrate with their local community and access local resources.
