Position: Carbon Pipe Fitter
Location: Cork
Employment Type: Full-Time
We Are Hiring Experienced High Purity Pipe Fitters to join our team for upcoming projects in various sites across Ireland.
Job Overview:
As a Carbon Pipe Fitter you will be responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing carbon steel piping systems for industrial, commercial, and residential projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with carbon steel pipes, possess strong mechanical skills, and have a solid understanding of piping systems, blueprints, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Fabrication: Accurately measure, cut, thread, groove, and weld carbon steel pipes based on isometric drawings, specifications, and job requirements.
- System Assembly: Assemble and secure pipes, fittings, valves, and other equipment using hand and power tools.
- Inspection and Testing: Perform inspections and pressure tests to ensure system integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Maintenance and Repair: Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair existing piping systems, identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the appropriate piping layout and installation process.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures, regulations, and protocols, ensuring a safe work environment. Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow lockout/tagout procedures when necessary.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other trades, contractors, and team members to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including material usage, progress reports, and safety documentation.
Requirements:
- Proficient in measuring, cutting, threading, and welding carbon steel pipes.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and P&ID diagrams.
- Knowledge of various pipe fitting tools and equipment.
- Understanding of industry safety standards and practices.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a pipe fitter, with a focus on carbon steel piping systems.
