Back of House Kitchen Assistant
We are seeking a hardworking and dedicated kitchen assistant to join our back of house team. Initially, the role will cover three mornings a week, with the possibility of additional hours during busy periods and to cover staff holidays.
This role involves heavy manual handling, including lifting and preparing large quantities of potatoes, as well as assisting with various kitchen and stockroom tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Pay: €11.30-€12.70 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week

This role involves heavy manual handling, including lifting and preparing large quantities of potatoes, as well as assisting with various kitchen and stockroom tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Peeling and preparing potatoes: Washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning large amounts of potatoes for kitchen operations.
- Lifting and handling: Safely lifting and transporting heavy potato bags (up to 25 kg) and other kitchen supplies.
- Stockroom organisation: Assisting in organising and arranging the stockroom, ensuring supplies are well-stocked and labeled correctly.
- Cleaning and maintenance: Keeping the kitchen clean and sanitary, including work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Assisting senior staff: Supporting senior kitchen staff with food preparation and general kitchen tasks.
- Waste disposal: Properly managing waste and recycling according to health and safety standards.
- Holiday cover: Providing additional support during staff absences or holiday periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 25 kg) on a regular basis.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and a team-player mindset.
- Willingness to adapt and take on a variety of tasks as needed.
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Initially, 3 mornings per week (specific days to be discussed).
