Assistant Restaurant Manager
About Wildlands
Wildlands is a unique adventure and accommodation development set within 20 acres of mature woodlands, on the N59 overlooking Ballyquirke Lough in Moycullen, Co. Galway. Wildlands opened in 2020 and consists of:
· An adventure park with activities for all ages;
· An elevated light-filled events space which holds 200+ overlooking the development;
· A contemporary 150-seater restaurant, the Olive Tree Kitchen;
· Large event room;
· the “Wildlands Wagon”, a retro custom-made Volkswagen selling coffee and treats to the public and visitors throughout the development; and
· luxurious wooden cabins with a birds-eye view of the development, overlooking Ballyquirke Lake.

The Role:
We’re looking for an assistant manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is ready to apply their knowledge to this varied role on our busy adventure park. You’ll need to be an enthusiastic, encouraging, results driven manager with experience in managing people and processes in a busy operation.
You will support the restaurant and retail team and manage the business of the department, typically between the hours of 8.30 am and 9.30pm during the park opening days (which includes weekends and school holidays).
Report to:
Restaurant Manager.
Start Date:
September/October 2024.
Key Responsibilities
· To manage the retail and restaurant department operations on a day-to-day basis working closely with fellow assistant manager, restaurant manager, team leaders and team members.
· To oversee and support the overall guest experience and wider park experience.
· To work closely with Reservations Manager and Events Manager to ensure efficient planning for incoming queries.
· Maintain the highest standards across all areas of the business.
· Oversee stock and cash control, including till reconciliation.
· Deputise for the restaurant manager in their absence. Support the restaurant and retail operations where required.
· Ensure all guests are greeted on arrival and ensure they are given the highest standards of service and delivery during their visit.
· Ensure retail areas are stocked and priced in accordance with agreed policies.
· Deal with complaints/ get feedback from all customers where possible. Assist with the monthly review of online guest feedback.
· Ensure training records are in place and all staff attend and are signed off in departmental risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
· Ensure there is a written record of all incidents or accidents and report to the restaurant manager.
· To take a lead role as a senior manager in the event of all first aid, fire or other emergency situations. This includes evacuating buildings in the event of an alarm sounding or the occurrence of a fire.
· Promote a safety culture. Relevant Daily and Weekly checks must be completed with the support of the team and restaurant manager. Lead the day to day operations from a HACCP perspective.
· Contribute positively to the public profile of the company in your presentation, (wear uniform), and friendly approachable demeanour. Always show positive leadership qualities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €31,000.00-€33,000.00 per year
