The Supplier Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with Cross functional teams to lead supplier selection, development, and qualification activities. This role involves resolving design for manufacturing (DFM) issues, supporting re-sourcing efforts, and evaluating supplier change requests. The ideal candidate will be skilled in process excellence, statistical analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, with a strong focus on ensuring supplier processes meet Spacelabs' specifications and quality requirements.

Lead supplier selection, development, and qualification activities, including risk identification, mitigation planning, project scheduling, and supplier ASL (Approved Supplier List) processes.

Collaborate with R&D and suppliers to address and resolve DFM issues during the New Product Introduction (NPI) stage.

Manage re-sourcing efforts, including transitioning products from one supplier to another.

Evaluate and process supplier change requests promptly.

Provide input on additional incoming evaluation controls needed to mitigate product non-conformance risks.

Support cross-functional teams in developing and approving part qualifications, and in First Article Inspection (FAI) review and activities.

Work with suppliers to establish and refine manufacturing and assembly processes, ensuring they meet Spacelabs' specifications and quality standards.

Design and execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) and Capability Studies to implement or improve manufacturing processes.

Analyze supplier scorecards, dashboards, and Non-Conformance Reports (NMR) to identify and implement improvements for First Pass Yield (FPY).

Collaborate with Supply Chain Quality Engineers to establish and enforce supplier quality control plans and measures.

Ensure supplier actions are implemented effectively to minimize and mitigate risks to Spacelabs.

Oversee and ensure measurement system evaluations are completed and meet Spacelabs' requirements.

Support supplier baseline assessments and gap analysis, focusing on manufacturing, special processes, in-process controls, and final acceptance.

Participate in supplier audits and assessments as needed.

Report any quality problems or defects to management to ensure corrective actions are taken and recurrence is avoided.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Manufacturing Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Min. Experience is 10 years
- Working knowledge of Process Excellence Tools (Six Sigma & Lean).
- Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical analysis and tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across cultures and functions.
- Proficiency in evaluating processes and determining process capability.
- Familiarity with ISO9000, MDR, ISO13485, and/or 21 CFR part 820, or experience in a regulated industry.
- Proficient in MS Office, Visio, and statistical analysis tools (Minitab preferred).
- Understanding of ERP and workflow database software.
- Experience with change control systems/quality management systems is a plus.
- Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
- CQE or CQM certification preferred.
- Flexibility to accommodate different time zones, including late night/early morning meetings.
- Domestic travel required <10%. International travel required; must be able to obtain necessary travel documents.
