The Core Banking Platform serves as the backbone to Kredivo's daily operations, encompassing all the essential functions necessary to manage loans, lenders, payments and other financial transactions. The team focuses on building and maintaining strongly consistent, highly performant, resilient, secure and mission critical systems used across Kredivo products in Indonesia and other South-east Asian countries. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of 8-10 experienced, high performing engineers, building real time distributed systems. You will be responsible for defining the strategic roadmap for the team by collaborating with product, business and other cross functional stakeholders. You'll have full accountability for the growth and development of your team, provided through technical leadership and mentorship.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of software engineers responsible for delivering impactful features across one or multiple core banking products
Drive the end-to-end development process from planning, design, implementation, testing and release
Collaborate and communicate effectively with the cross functional teams consisting of product and business stakeholders, engineers and QA in an agile, fast-paced environment
Provide technical leadership by evaluating technical designs and driving architectural direction for their team
Proactively monitor, suggest and implement best practices across engineering and operational excellence - observability, reliability, quality, performance, security, production support
Regularly provide constructive feedback to team members to achieve their performance and development goals
Actively participate in hiring and improving the onboarding and retention of new engineers
Qualifications and Experience:
10+ years of total experience with 3+ years of experience in managing a team in a fast-growing company, building and maintaining backend applications
A growth mindset with passion for building things from the ground up, and most importantly, leading by example
Passionate about coaching and people development
Experience using an agile iterative software development process with a strong hold on planning and execution
Excellent written and verbal communication skills focused on improving collaboration, understanding and information sharing across cross functional and distributed teams
Excellent time management skills to prioritize and focus on value delivering initiatives
Ability to think strategically and implement processes to lead the engineers towards excellence
Hands-on experience in a programming, technical design, micro services development and event driven architecture
Experience with backend technologies - Golang, Python, Redis, My SQL, No SQL, SQS, Kafka, AWS services etc.
Experience with tools - Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence, bitbucket), Slack, Data Dog, Grafana etc.
