SUMMARY: The Storage Engineer plays a lead role in supporting a variety of EMC, Oracle and cloud storage solutions. The Storage Engineer interfaces across several channels, leading discussions regarding business, technical, and infrastructure issues, and identifying potential areas of risk. The Storage Engineer also serves as a mentor for junior members of the IT Infrastructure Systems department, providing training and learning opportunities for those team members. The Storage Engineer will act as the technical lead for various projects that are assigned to the department, including the logistics of ordering equipment and coordinating schedules with the other Storage and Systems Engineers to ensure the projects are completed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Support a global storage infrastructure made up of Isilon, True Nas, Oracle ZFS and Commvault/Metallic backup technologies.
Support Azure Vmware solution, On-premises Vmware upgrade and maintenance.
Azure and AWS infrastructure support.
Zerto DR solution setup and support.
Linux and windows administration is plus. (+point)
Utilize SAN/NAS principles including NFS, CIFS, FC and i SCSI
Provision, configure, and proactively monitor global storage solutions
Ensure stable performance for global storage infrastructure
Plan and coordinate execution of disaster recovery plans
Participate in the design and deployment of new storage solutions
Perform necessary storage infrastructure maintenance including hardware replacements and code upgrades of switches and storage subsystems
Monitor Enterprise Storage Infrastructure SAN hardware using native and enterprise administration tools
Provision storage to hosts running various operating systems
Run fiber channel cabling to newly installed hosts and troubleshoot issues with existing connections
QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
Extensive knowledge of at least two of The following storage solutions: Isilon, VNX, VMAX, Xtrem IO, ZFS and Data Domain
Familiarity with many if not all the above-mentioned storage solutions
Knowledge of VMware ESX
Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems preferred
BE/BTech, MBA, BCA, MCA (Graduate/Post Graduate) with 6 to 9 years of relevant experience.
Preferably having prior experience in Onsite-Offshore model.
