Job descriptionWhat you’ll do Role Summary The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring that all plant operations are carried out with full safety measures and procedures adhering to prescribed norms. Also, he needs to review the plant S.H.E compliances periodically and share his audit report with GM-Operations including the Management Committee on monthly basis. To ensure plant safety and a hazard-free environment along with a healthy workplace.
Ensure all operations in the plant are carried out following policy and procedures of S.H.E and violation if any is immediately identified and addressed.
Responsible for proper development of green areas in the surroundings of the plant which helps in pollution control, and environment protection and results in the beautification of plant.
Ensure laid down PTW (Permit to work) and LOTO (Lock out Tag out) procedures are followed religiously.
Ensure S.H.E status of the plant is discussed in various meetings (Daily Quality Meeting, Weekly Production Meeting, USHEC Meeting (Unit Safety health, Environment Committee meeting) and, safety review meeting)
Safety Targets
Ensure Zero LTA (Loss time accident), Zero MTC (Medical treatment cases), RWC (Restricted work cases,) and Zero FAC (First Aid cases).
Ensure Near Miss and other Safety Violation incidents are reported and investigated as per laid down policy and procedure followed by putting remedial measures in place.
Listing of Critical Observations & sharing with all concerned
Ensure all reports and findings of critical observations are sent to management and various other authorities on time and duly vetted by concerned authorities.
Ensure S.H.E compliance of the plant as per audit standards of BRC (British Retail Consortium), URSA (Unilever Responsible Sourcing Audit), MMS (Minimum mandatory Standard) and, Factories Act.
To ensure ZERO Non-Conformance in various audits pertaining to safety.
To Carry out periodical audits of the plant and share reports with all concerned including the Management Committee with suggested measures to mitigate gaps and avoid reoccurrence.
Ensure all licenses and consents concerning to S.H.E are taken/renewed by concerned departments/ authorities promptly.
Safety Trainings
To ensure targeted Safety training for all employees in coordination with the heads of departments. To conduct internal and external training as required.
To regularly monitor ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) parameters and take corrective actions.
To ensure that wastages from plant operations like oil, grease, chemical sludge, etc should be sent d to authorized vendors.
