Job Description:
As a Product Designer (Metal Products), you will be responsible for designing and developing metal-based products such as furniture, shelving, lighting fixtures, and other home and office solutions. You will work from concept to final production, ensuring that designs are not only functional but also visually appealing and manufacturable. This role requires you to balance creativity, ergonomics, and cost-efficiency in every product design.

Job Description:
As a Product Designer (Metal Products), you will be responsible for designing and developing metal-based products such as furniture, shelving, lighting fixtures, and other home and office solutions. You will work from concept to final production, ensuring that designs are not only functional but also visually appealing and manufacturable. This role requires you to balance creativity, ergonomics, and cost-efficiency in every product design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development:
- Design a variety of metal products including chairs, tables, shelves, light fixtures, and other office/home accessories.
- Create innovative, ergonomic, and aesthetically pleasing designs that cater to modern homes and office spaces.
- Ensure designs align with both functionality and manufacturability, adhering to industry standards and user requirements.
- Material and Process Selection:
- Choose the right metals (e.g., steel, aluminum) and finishes that best suit the product's purpose while considering sustainability.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure that materials are high-quality, durable, and environmentally friendly.
- Prototype Development:
- Develop detailed drawings, CAD models, and 3D renderings of products for review and prototyping.
- Oversee the creation of prototypes, working closely with manufacturers to test and refine the product design.
- Collaboration with Teams:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, production managers, and marketing teams, to ensure designs are feasible, scalable, and aligned with company goals.
- Work with sales and marketing to tailor product features based on customer feedback and market trends.
- Product Testing and Improvement:
- Conduct product testing to ensure that the designs meet quality and durability standards.
- Continuously refine designs based on testing outcomes, user feedback, and technological advancements.
- Trend and Market Research:
- Stay updated on the latest design trends and market demands in home and office products.
- Continuously research innovations in metal fabrication techniques and materials to integrate into your design work.
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in metal fabrication or material science are a plus.
- Experience:
- 1+ years of experience in product design, specifically with metal products for home or office use.
- Experience designing furniture or fixtures with an emphasis on both functionality and aesthetics.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in design software like Auto CAD, Solid Works, or other 3D modeling tools.
- Deep understanding of metal properties, fabrication processes, and finishing techniques.
- Knowledge of ergonomics and user-centered design for home and office environments.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent creativity with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
