The Medical Data Entry Operator is responsible for accurately entering and maintaining patient data, healthcare records, and other critical medical information in the system. The role requires attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work with medical terminologies. Key Responsibilities:
Enter and update patient information into the healthcare system, including personal details, diagnosis, treatments, and prescriptions.
Review medical records and reports to ensure accurate and complete data entry.
Verify data integrity by cross-checking information with relevant healthcare professionals.
Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive patient information in compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
Perform routine audits to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data.
Retrieve medical data and provide reports as needed for physicians, nurses, or administrative staff.
Support the healthcare team by ensuring timely and precise data input.
Collaborate with IT and administration departments to troubleshoot any data entry or system-related issues.
Assist with maintaining and organizing both digital and physical health records.
Stay updated with medical terminology and coding changes to ensure correct data input.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in health information technology or related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a data entry clerk, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and other healthcare management software.
Knowledge of medical terminologies and healthcare data entry standards.
Excellent typing speed and accuracy.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive tasks.
Basic understanding of medical coding (ICD, CPT, etc.) is an added advantage.
