The Role
In Mainframe Network Communications - Systems Management at Kyndryl, you will be critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our customers’ IT infrastructure. You'll be the mastermind behind maintaining and optimizing their systems, ensuring they're always running at peak performance.
Not only will you be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure, but you'll also have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions that will shape the future of the industry. Your technical prowess will be put to the test as you troubleshoot critical customer situations and provide timely solutions to keep their systems secure, reliable, and efficient. You'll be the go-to expert for sizing and optimizing systems, ensuring our customers' business performance is always world-class.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

4+ Years of experience in installation, configuration, customisation and support of IBM and ISV network software, including:
z/OS Communications Server, ie. VTAM & TCP/IP
Network management software (includes Net View and NPM)
File transfer software (includes TCP/IP FTP, Netview FTP and Connect:Direct)
Session Management software (includes CA-TPX, CA-Solve Access and Candle Super Session)
Printing software (includes Info Print server and LRS VPS)
NCP and NPSI/X25
- Disaster Recovery, planning and execution of tests, including client access to DR systems during production network service.
- Configuration of Network Communications Controller hardware (various 3745 models) including liaising with client network service provider over wide-area network connections.
Network Performance monitoring and tuning.
- Specification and configuration of mainframe Open Systems Adapters, including liaising with client network service provider over connections to LAN/WAN.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Network software evaluation to ensure appropriate support for production services - functional comparisons of software, compatibility with existing software base, and supportability/operation.
- Provision of support and consultancy for IBM owned in-house written network/user access software.
- Provide product information, education and presentations on network software (IBM and ISV) for client.
- Evaluate and recommend changes to current and future system software requirements to meet the organization's needs.
- Perform account Health checking for supported products on accounts eg Netview FTP and Connect Direct.
- Provide 24 x 7 support (including out of hours support) on a rota basis. Also provide support on overtime basis, where necessary
