Job brief
We are looking for a Sr. Accountant for Costing & General accounts to join our accounting team. You’ll be mainly responsible for inventory & performing cost analyses and preparing costing reports along with general accounting requirements.
You should possess excellent analytical skills along with the ability to combine different data and calculate product profit margins. Our ideal candidate should also be able to create detailed reports that present cost-effective solutions for our company.
Ultimately, you should build updated databases and manage cost information to maximize profitability for our company.
Responsibilities
Maintain and monitor inventory records
Determine fixed costs (e.g. salaries, rent and insurance)
Determine variable costs (e.g. purchases of raw material and operations costs)
Prepare & Analyse Cost sheets and profit margins
Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
Review and verify general ledger accounting documents
Monitoring AR & AP transactions and reconciliations
Assisting in month-end and year-end closing
Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) costing & other MIS reports
Build and handle costing section as individual contributor
Co-ordinate and complete statutory & other relevant audits
Requirements and skills
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or commerce or CMA inter
3+ years of proven work experience as an Executive Costing / Accountant or similar role
Thorough knowledge of Cost accounting standards
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and taxation
Experience with accounting software, like SAP B1 and Tally
Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
Excellent communication and presentation skills in discussing financial reports with company stakeholders
Strong time management skills
