As part of our continuous growth, we are seeking a dedicated Converting Supervisor to join our Converting Department.
**Job Overview:**
The Converting Supervisor will play a pivotal role in our Converting Department, ensuring the efficient and effective transformation of printed rolls into finished labels. This role involves overseeing a variety of processes such as slitting, sleeving (gluing), inspection, label cutting, as well as managing manpower, packing materials, and dispatch operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of label manufacturing processes, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to quality control.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Supervision:** Manage and lead a team of converting operators and technicians, ensuring they meet production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards.
2. **Process Optimization:** Continuously assess and improve the efficiency of converting processes, implementing best practices and process enhancements to maximize output and minimize waste.
3. **Quality Control:** Oversee the inspection and quality control processes to ensure that all labels meet the company's quality standards and customer specifications.
4. **Inventory Management:** Monitor and manage raw materials, packing materials, and finished goods inventory to ensure adequate supplies for production and timely dispatch.
5. **Equipment Maintenance:** Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure that converting machinery is well-maintained and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during production.
6. **Safety Compliance:** Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all team members adhere to safety guidelines and regulations.
7. **Training and Development:** Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in label manufacturing processes.
8. **Reporting:** Prepare and maintain production reports, including performance metrics, downtime records, and any other relevant data to assess departmental performance.
9. **Dispatch Handling:** Coordinate with the dispatch team to ensure on-time delivery of finished products to customers, and handle any logistical challenges that may arise.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a label manufacturing or similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of converting processes, including slitting, sleeving, inspection, and label cutting.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
