Conduct research on industry trends, best practices in training, and subject matter to create relevant and informative content. Verify sources of information to ensure content is accurate and credible.
Organize content logically, ensuring smooth flow from one topic to the next to facilitate effective learning.
Create outlines and storyboards to plan content structure before full development.
Write clear, concise, and engaging training materials, including manuals, guides, e-learning modules, case studies, scripts, and assessments.
Develop learning content that simplifies complex topics for target audiences.
Ensure content aligns with instructional design principles and follows the learning objectives.
Collaborate with instructional designers to develop content that complements visual and interactive elements.
Work with subject matter experts to gather accurate information and ensure the content is technically correct and up to date.
Adapt technical or detailed subject matter into content that is accessible and easily understandable.
Maintain consistency in tone and voice throughout various types of training content, while adhering to brand and organizational guidelines.
Edit and proofread content for grammar, clarity, and consistency.
Adapt written content for various formats such as e-learning platforms, presentations and video scripts.
Incorporate interactive elements (quizzes, case scenarios) into the content to improve engagement and retention.
Manage multiple content writing projects, ensuring all deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
Accept and incorporate feedback from instructional designers, SMEs, and other stakeholders to revise and improve content.
Ensure that all written content complies with legal and regulatory standards.
Key Skills and knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Education etc.
Specialized degrees in Instructional Design, Learning and Development or certifications in content writing, e-learning development, or instructional design or familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning theories
1 – 2 years of relevant experience
Strong command of English with excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Ability to write clear, concise, and engaging instructional materials that meet the specific needs of learners.
Editing and proofreading skills to ensure high-quality content delivery.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Captivate).
Good time management skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, and adapting as necessary.
Proficient in using online collaborating platforms, Google Docs and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
