Assistant Professor – Front Office and Housekeeping
Job Summary: The Assistant Professor for Front Office and Housekeeping will play a crucial role in educating and training students in hotel management. This position involves teaching theoretical and practical courses, developing curriculum, and fostering a learning environment that prepares students for careers in the hospitality industry. Key Responsibilities: Teaching and Curriculum Development: Deliver engaging lectures and practical sessions on front office operations, housekeeping management, and related subjects. Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, and assessments to align with industry standards. Student Support and Mentoring: Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, guiding them in their studies and career aspirations. Assess student performance through exams, projects, and practical evaluations, providing constructive feedback. Industry Engagement: Stay current with trends and developments in the hospitality industry, incorporating real-world examples into teaching. Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals and organizations for potential guest lectures, workshops, and internships. Research and Professional Development: Engage in research activities related to front office and housekeeping management, contributing to the body of knowledge in the field. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness and industry knowledge. Collaboration: Collaborate with faculty members and administration to enhance the overall educational experience for students. Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum committees, and other collaborative initiatives. Qualifications: Education: Master’s degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field; a Ph.D. or equivalent is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of teaching experience in a higher education setting, with a strong background in front office and housekeeping operations.
