Job Title: Art CAM Designer & JAI CNC OperatorJob Responsibilities:
Design and Modeling:
Use Art CAM software to create intricate 2D and 3D models, reliefs, and patterns according to project requirements or client specifications.
Develop artistic and functional designs for various applications, such as engraved signs, decorative moldings, jewelry, furniture components, or industrial parts.
Optimize designs for JAI CNC machining, considering tool limitations, material characteristics, and machining strategies.
Toolpath Creation and CNC Programming:
Generate precise toolpaths in Art CAM for JAI CNC machines, ensuring efficient machining processes.
Configure and produce machine code (e.g., G-code) to control JAI CNC equipment accurately.
Perform software simulations to validate the toolpaths and troubleshoot any potential issues before production.
JAI CNC Machine Setup and Operation:
Set up JAI CNC machines, including loading materials, choosing appropriate cutting tools, and calibrating machine settings.
Operate JAI CNC equipment to execute the toolpaths, machining components based on the designed models.
Monitor the machining process, adjusting parameters as needed to ensure product accuracy, quality, and safety.
Quality Assurance and Inspection:
Inspect finished parts and components to verify they meet design specifications and quality standards.
Perform post-machining tasks such as sanding, polishing, or assembly to achieve the final product finish.
Work with quality control teams to identify and resolve any deviations from specifications.
File Management and Documentation:
Maintain an organized database of design files, machining programs, toolpaths, and production records.
Document any changes made to designs or machine settings for process improvement and future reference.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Conduct routine maintenance on JAI CNC machines, ensuring they operate efficiently and prevent downtime.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or software-related issues, coordinating with maintenance personnel for complex repairs.
Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with advancements in CAD/CAM software, CNC machining techniques, and JAI equipment.
Propose and implement improvements to enhance machining efficiency, reduce waste, and improve design quality.
Experiment with new materials, cutting tools, and machining methods to expand capabilities.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with clients, project managers, engineers, and production teams to understand design objectives and manufacturing requirements.
Provide feedback on design feasibility, material selection, and machining strategies to optimize production outcomes.
Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and address production challenges promptly.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Art CAM software for creating 2D and 3D models, reliefs, and generating toolpaths.
Experience operating JAI CNC machinery or similar CNC equipment, with a strong understanding of G-code.
Knowledge of materials used in CNC machining, such as wood, metal, plastic, or composites.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and design specifications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Experience:
Previous work in industries such as woodworking, metalworking, sign making, or jewelry production.
Familiarity with other CAD/CAM software (e.g., Vectric Aspire, Fusion 360, or Rhino CAM).
Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of JAI CNC machinery or similar equipment.
