Subject to the approval of funds, Faculty lll at Europa-Universität Flensburg seeks to fill the following position for a limited, three-year contract:
Research Associate (f/m/d) Department for Sustainable Energy Transition
Duties:
- To develop use cases at the interface of science and the energy industry, and to classify regional systems in a national context
- To adapt and apply open, cross-grid energy system models
- To further develop and apply "e Gon" grid planning tools https://ego-n.org/)
- To research scientific literature and data
- To communicate with practice partners, network partners, and project sponsors
- Work on the project may be combined with doctoral study at Europa-Universität Flensburg (optional)
Your profile:
- A degree (master’s or equivalent; minimum grade of "good”) in industrial engineering, electrical/energy engineering, or a comparable field.
- Good knowledge of energy technology and/or energy economics (for example, in topics such as power grids and sector coupling, as well as their modeling)
- Knowledge in the optimization and simulation of energy systems, particularly in the SQL and Python programming languages, or the willingness to acquire this knowledge
Desirable qualifications:
- Affinity for Open-Source and Open Data.
- Experience working independently and in a structured manner, as well as collaboratively.
- Good English language skills.
- Good German language skills would be a considered a plus; basic ones are a prerequisite.
