This includes the provision of both technical and administrative support to the ETSI Technical Bodies (TBs), Industry Specification Groups (ISGs) and Special Projects that draft those standards, administering the approval of those drafts, their editing and final publication. The Operations Division also provides support for the ETSI Partnership Projects 3GPP and one M2M. Within ETSI Operations, the Standards Development Centre (SDC) department is in charge of providing comprehensive support to ETSI committees and ETSI Partnership Project one M2M. The Mobile Competence Centre (MCC) department is in charge of providing comprehensive support to the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Role Overview: We are seeking for highly motivated Technical Officers to join the MCC and SDC teams. The Technical Officer provides both technical and administrative support to ETSI Technical Bodies (TBs), Industry Specification Groups (ISGs) and/or the ETSI Partnership Projects (3GPP/one M2M). This support includes advice on good standards-making methods and processes, guidance on the application of the ETSI/Partnership Projects Directives and Working Procedures, technical and administrative support during meetings, as well as advice on the use of the ETSI/3GPP portal and associated tools. It involves working closely together with DPC (Documents Production Centre) on the final delivery and approval of the standards. Key Responsibilities: This is a position for an experienced engineer that includes the following key responsibilities, operating under the supervision of the MCC Director or SDC Director:
Act as prime ETSI Secretariat contact for the ETSI Technical Bodies, Industry Specification Group or Partnership Project to which (s)he is assigned.
Ensure that resulting deliverables are fit for purpose, in line with ETSI requirements for technical and editorial quality and meet the necessary regulatory requirements.
Ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with the ETSI Directives and/or Partnership Project Working Procedures,
Advise on procedural and drafting matters and promote best practices.
Provide activity reports and ensure that groups’ Decisions and Actions are clearly recorded and followed up.
Participate in the improvement of the MCC/SDC department working methods and documentation.
Liaise with external organisations as necessary.

University degree or equivalent in Electronic or Telecommunication Engineering.
Experience working within a standardisation environment (ideally ETSI, 3GPP and/or one M2M)
An appreciation of legal or regulatory issues would be beneficial, but full training will be given to a successful candidate with the necessary technical skills.
Self-motivated, independent, enquiring and positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and become autonomous rapidly.
Experience with working in international teams.
Excellent written and oral communication in English.
Ability to travel internationally
