To support its expansion, Nord Pool Services and specifically the Nord Pool Consulting team, a team working with consultancy projects and IT delivery projects, is looking for a Junior Consultant to join the team from January 2025, for an initial period of 12 months (can be extended), in Espoo (Finland). You will be involved in various tasks in international consulting and IT delivery projects.
This is a unique opportunity to grow in a demanding role, as a consultant in close collaboration with our senior consultants & other energy experts as well as work closely with Nord Pool top management delivering important projects related to electricity market design and implementation, drafting market rules and implementing power exchange organizations.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the European electricity markets, energy trading, and more broadly energy transition.
The main activities that you will be responsible for include:

Work closely with consultants and other team members to support various projects.

Undertake analysis to provide background knowledge for projects using desktop research, assisting in problem solving and the development of solutions.

Assist senior consultants and market experts in meetings with clients.

Produce high-quality materials (spreadsheets, presentation slides and reports) that effectively communicate results, conclusions and suggested courses of action.

Participate in regular meetings with other departments in the company and partners, to ensure alignment.

Support the planning and implementation of client projects by coordinating across teams, ensuring tasks are completed on time and assisting in managing project documentation.

Conduct research to identify potential business opportunities and support the development of project proposals.

Assist in administrative and reporting tasks by preparing client invoices and project budgets.
Profile
-
A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, energy technology, or a related field.
-
A successful first internship or work experience in the energy industry and/or in strategy consulting is considered beneficial.

Experience in creating reports and presentations.
-
Fluent in English.
Desired skills

Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.

Command of Excel, Power Point, and Word.

Ability to handle ambiguity and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.

A strong interest in energy economics, power markets, and the energy sector in general.
