In this role you will be responsible for assisting in collection work from the starting point to the end product. Your role includes supporting designers in their operational work, and you will work closely with our Product and Technical development team, Artwork Studio and Sampling Studio located at our own printing mill. To succeed in this role, you have experience in the fashion industry and from commercial collection work. You are eager to learn and to contribute to the collection work. You are interested in working with both inhouse and freelance designers, you have strong technical skills and a good understanding of product design as well as a great sense of colors. You are not afraid to take responsibility, and you are eager to contribute to Marimekko´s continuous success. This is a full-time, fixed-term position with start as soon as possible, latest by 14th of October 2024, until 4th of July 2025 in which you report to our Design Director, RTW & BA. Your responsibilities will include, among other things:
Support Design team in collection work
Support designers in operational work at HQ
Creation of design packages containing technical specifications
Creating print and color instructions
Commenting print colors
Coordinating different collection related issues and producing the collection overviews
We expect you to have:
Suitable educational background, e. g. Fashion design degree (RTW)
Previous design experience, min. 1 year
Excellent IT skills, especially in Photoshop / Illustrator / In Design
An exceptional eye for colors
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent teamwork & communication skills
Fluency In English, both verbal and written, fluency in Finnish is seen as an advantage
