We are now looking for a Trade Compliance Specialist to join our Legal team.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to use and increase your skills on dealing with trade compliance requirements as part of sales process in various demanding international deals (e.g. related to US Government purchase requirements). This is an important role supporting VTT Sales to increase business with international customers in heavily regulated fields of business, such as defence, security, health tech and nuclear energy.
Our team, Legal Affairs, provides customer oriented in-house legal services especially for VTT Customer and IPR Sales and management, project managers and other specialists and for large number of jointly funded research projects. Our role is essential especially in the demanding project sales and IPR-sales deals in collaboration with the opportunity and project preparation team. We support the overall preventive risk management of various projects in the regulated areas of business by providing appropriate terms and conditions to close the deals on an acceptable risk level.

As Trade Compliance Specialist, you will:

• Play a key role in enabling VTT sales to close deals where trade compliance is a critical part of demanding international deals.
• Coordinate the preparation of offers and compliance clearance for large, complex, and heavily regulated deals, working closely with a cross-functional team (including e.g. sales, legal counsel, pricing, and finance specialists).
• Review customer RFP purchase requirements, identify the appropriate persons from VTT’s support functions, management, or external service providers (such as legal, finance, tax, data security, and quality), and coordinate the work to clarify RFP requirements for VTT.

Who we are looking for:

An experienced, enthusiastic and well-organised person with strong social skills. The ideal candiate has:

• Proven project management skills with interdisciplinary teams and preparation/overseeing experience in an international environment.
• Knowledge of international trade regulations and practices; experience in public procurement is an advantage.
• Ability to coordinate virtual cross functional team work.
• Fluent business English (especially written), understanding of legal and regulatory language is an advantage.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
• Relevant corporate experience from previous roles.
• Ability to work with and engage stakeholders across different organisational levels and professions.
