We are looking for an experienced Team Lead for our Strategic Design team, known within Vincit as a Design Cell Lead.
At Vincit, a "cell" refers to a team in specific competence areas like design, software development, or data. Each cell has a Team Lead responsible for managing and supporting the team.

What is the job like really?

This hybrid role splits your time between leadership, business development, sales and supervisory responsibilities. The exact balance of your role can be tailored to your skills and preferences, but we’re particularly looking for someone with a strong background in strategic and business design, and experience in building and selling design.
Vincit works on diverse projects across various industries with clients like Framery, GEF Finland, Helen, HUS, Kalmar, Kesko, Mandatum, Outokumpu, The New York Times, and more. You’ll also be part of our international Strategy & Design community, which includes 50+ designers across Finland, Sweden, and the USA.
As Team Lead, your core responsibility is to lead and coach a team of 10–25 design professionals, focusing on strategic, business and service design.

️ Coaching: Mentor and guide your team members, supporting their continuous professional growth and development.
️ Project Allocation: Ensure your team members are assigned to projects that align with their skills and development goals.
️ Business Performance: Drive the cell’s business performance by consistently meeting key metrics such as utilization and allocation, forecasting the cell’s business development, and optimizing gross margin.
️ Active Recruitment: Participate in the recruitment process to ensure new hires are a good fit for the team.

What Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for someone with experience in mentoring teams and supervising experts, alongside a strong background in design and business.
Essential Skills
A higher education degree in design or business, with 10+ years of experience in strategic design, and business design or service design. You’ve successfully tackled complex problems using strategic, human-centred approaches that drive measurable business results.

Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to see the big picture and understand how design impacts business and the world around it. You grasp the role of human and market insights in business development.
Experience as a supervisor and/or team lead, with a proven track record in coaching team members for growth.

Experience in design business development and sales. Ability to clearly communicate business value in diverse contexts, with the confidence to sell projects that create real value and results.

Excellent design leadership skills, with a vision for the right direction. A positive, curious, and proactive attitude, with a talent for inspiring, supporting, and coaching others.

A true team player who thrives in collaboration, and fostering synergy among multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of fostering psychological safety, inclusion, and motivation within teams.
A passion for growing Vincit’s Design capabilities and culture.
Fluency in both Finnish and English is essential for effective communication with clients and team members.
