Global Field Services is currently looking for a (Senior) Superintendent E&A to strengthen our skilled team by providing services and commissioning activities for our customers all over the world. This role is offered as a permanent contract and the preferred location is Vaasa, Finland, but Turku, Espoo, and Helsinki can also be considered. Candidates of various seniority levels are encouraged to apply, as this role can be offered as Service Engineer, Senior Service Engineer, Superintendent, or Senior Superintendent.
In this exciting role, you'll have the opportunity to work internationally and travel the world for various service jobs for approximately 150 days per year. Therefore, we are looking for candidates who are ready and willing to travel, who possess a strong Field Service mindset. When you are not traveling, you will be able to work partially remotely, in accordance with our hybrid work model.
What will you be doing?
The Global Field Services team is at the core of the Wärtsilä Smart Marine strategy, fulfilling the company purpose by providing state of the art technology to marine customers who need to have their vessels operated beyond compliance. As part of the Global Field Services team, your daily work would revolve around performing and leading commissioning, overhauls, troubleshooting, on-site repairs, audits, measurement, analysis, and upgrades on marine and land-based installations with Wärtsilä engines and equipment.
Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
- Pre-commissioning and commissioning of Wärtsilä equipment with the latest automation and electrical technologies for marine and power plant installations.
- Troubleshooting by identifying failures, adjusting and testing of installations, according to instructions and expected performance requirements.
- Performing installation audits at various land and sea-based installations.
- Preparing service reports and travel expenses on time in accordance with expected Wärtsilä quality.
- Participating in and contributing to improvement of new products when performing warranty activities.
- Conforming with and abiding by Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines, regulations, site procedures, and policies.
- Actively promoting Wärtsilä products and services.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction through performance and positive interactions with customers.
- Continuously expanding your knowledge of the UNIC system, which will be your main focus in this role.
The below will enable you to succeed in this role:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Automation Engineering or relevant work experience to compensate for lack of formal education.
- Experience of working in automation focused field service roles.
- Proven leadership qualities and decision-making skills.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset, along with resourcefulness to adjust and adapt when faced with a challenge.
- Passion for learning and professional growth, along with a desire to keep up with the latest innovations.
- Safety-first mindset.
- Proficient English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Highly effective technical communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Flexibility to travel globally for approximately 150 days per year.
- Drive for the common goal of providing our customers with the best possible service experience.
The below will be considered an advantage:
- Prior knowledge of the UNIC system or other automation systems.
- Electrical safety SFS6002.
- Experience with engine installation and troubleshooting (Diesel, Dual Fuel, Gas).
