We are looking for a Quality Manager, Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) to join the Material Management team. DC STH Material Management plans, organizes and controls the material flow from suppliers to production, including transportation, in-house logistics, warehousing and Supplier Quality Assurance.
The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing the Supplier Quality Assurance function. Supplier Quality Assurance consists of two teams that are responsible for supplier non-conformity handling and incoming inspection of materials.
Requirements for the position:
- Lead a team of Quality Engineers and Incoming Material Inspectors
- Manage non-conformity process (QE&QV) towards our suppliers and internal customers
- Participate in process and system development for Smart Technology Hub in Vaskiluoto
- Process and system development related to optimized end-to-end material flow
- Cooperation with other Wärtsilä departments in developing Supplier Quality Assurance
- Participate in Operational Excellence activities in Material Management
- Support and develop KPI measurements
- Be responsible for maintaining management system-related documents
- Coordinate and provide training
To be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:
- Master of Science or equivalent (in Engineering, Economics, IT, Business Administration, or similar)
- Skills to motivate and coach people to reach desired results
- Collaboration skills with your own team, colleagues and other departments in Wärtsilä
- Solution orientation with a strong focus on ensuring optimal efficiency, cost, and quality
- Experience in the development of quality management systems
- Understanding of methods to inspect and evaluate products to meet design criteria
- Good presentation skills
- Knowledge of LEAN principles is seen as an advantage (e.g. value stream mapping, kaizen, root cause analysis, and problem-solving)
- Strong IT skills (e.g. SAP knowledge)
- Experience in quality management
- Experience in supply management is seen as an advantage
- Experience in process development and project management is seen as an advantage
- Fluency in spoken and written Finnish or Swedish, and English
